Read:
Murder in the Mews - Agatha Christie (finished from yesterday)
A War Bride's Guide to the USA - Good Housekeeping - another reprint from the 40s; I like the typeface, and the general sense of history with books like these. "Only people with incomes of $5,000 (about £1,250) or more can afford a full-time maid". I'm not quite sure what I was more startled by; the salary needed for a maid, or the $/£ exchange rate.
French Women For All Seasons - Mireille Guiliano - her previous book (French Women Don't Get Fat) amused me, so I picked this one up (the discounted price in Waterstone's didn't hurt). So far, amusing, and the recipes look interesting.

Bought:
A War Bride's Guide to the USA - Good Housekeeping
French Women For All Seasons - Mireille Guiliano

I rather overestimated how much of the Agatha Christie I had left to read, so went hunting for reading material at lunchtime. Didn't intend to buy two ... but so it goes.
