Currently reading: x-files fanfic (blast from the past) and various random ebooks

Bought: none for a few days, mostly because of the availability of free ebooks and the general awesomeness of the iPhone as an ebook reader for commuting.

That is a lovely nerd quotient. Very nice. So the iPhone doubles as an ebook reader, eh? How's the screen?

I saw someone reading a Kindle on the metro the other day. Looked horrid with the grey shading.

I find the iPhone screen works well for the reading - the two readers I'm testing out (eReader and Stanza) both use a slightly off-white background for the page which seems to help with reading for long stretches - I read for over an hour on a recent long train trip without a problem. Font sizes are variable as well, to suit eyesight and general preferences - for me, a readable font gives a decent amount on each page so I don't feel like I'm turning pages too often.

Both use taps to turn pages - right for forwards, left for back - which is nicely intuitive and easy.

I have a slight preference for the eReader app, it just feels nicer than Stanza, but Stanza is a bit easier to get books onto the app - eReader requires you to upload them to an eReader.com account, then download them, whereas Stanza syncs with a desktop version.

The Kindle does not win any prizes for aesthetics, either on screen or off!

Hmmmmm. Will have to ponder further the obtaining of an iPhone.
