Dec. 28th, 2007 09:53 pmI'm in love with cross-country skiing - it is fabulous fun (various muscles are momentarily disagreeing, but the brain trumps those, thank you), out in utterly beautiful snow, mostly away from other people and so only disturbed by the sound of snow sighing from the trees and the hush of my skis on the snow.
No, I'm not very good at it, but I don't care - I am getting better, but the main thing is it's just immense fun. Roll on the next vacation now ... that's the only drawback, I've fallen in love with a sport that it is basically impossible to do anywhere close to home.
PS: yes, the armchairs did arrive, eventually (see previous post). Books acquired recently - lost track. Currently reading: Nigel Slater's Eating for England.
